2009 Buzgon Davis Law Offices Scholarship

Ms. Yepez-Laubach is the daughter of M/M George Laubach and is a graduating senior at Palmyra Area Senior High School. She is a member of the National Honor Society, participated in the National Young Leaders Conference, and is Co-Editor-in-Chief and Staff Writer for the Cougar Chronicle, the school newspaper. Other activities include Student Government and Varsity Girls’ Tennis Team. She plans to attend New York University and major in International Relations/English. She later plans to attend Columbia Law School.

The $3,000.00 Buzgon Davis Scholarship is given to a graduating senior from one of the seven district schools. The selection criterion includes (a) class rank (the student must be in the top 20% of the class, (b) essay-writing and (3) personal interview. Each school submits its top essay to the Buzgon Davis scholarship committee who then rates the essays as well as the personal interview with each candidate.

The topic for this year was SHOULD PARENTS AND OTHER ADULTS BE ALLOWED TO OPENLY CARRY FIREARMS TO PUBLIC EVENTS?

Ms. Yepez-Laubach, accompanied by her parents, M/M George Laubach, was presented with the first installment of her scholarship at a luncheon held at the Lebanon Country Club on May 8, 2009.
