2012 Buzgon Davis Law Offices Scholarship

The winner of the 2012 Buzgon Davis Law Offices Scholarship is Mr. Andrew Keck.  Mr. Keck is the son of M/M Barth Keck and is an honors student and a graduating senior at Palmyra Area High School.  He is president of his class, of the Student Council, and of the Youth and Government Club.  Mr. Keck started the Palmyra High School’s Mock Trial Team.  He is also a member of the track and cross country teams, the Key Club, the National Honor Society, and the youth group in his church.  Mr. Keck plans to attend Lafayette College and major in Government and Law with the intent of attending law school.

The $3,000.00 Buzgon Davis Scholarship is given to a graduating senior from one of the seven district schools. The selection criterion includes (a) class rank (the student must be in the top 20% of the class, (b) essay-writing and (3) personal interview. Each school submits its top essay to the Buzgon Davis scholarship committee who then rates the essays as well as the personal interview with each candidate.

The topic for this year was WHETHER THE NATIONAL HEALTH CARE PLAN SHOULD BE DECLARED UNCONSTITUTIONAL BECAUSE OF ITS MANDATE THAT EVERYONE MUST PURCHASE MEDICAL INSURANCE EITHER THROUGH EMPLOYMENT OR PERSONALLY.  CITE AUTHORITY IN SUPPORT OF YOUR POSITION.

Mr. Keck, accompanied by his parents, M/M Barth Keck, was presented with the first installment of his scholarship at a luncheon held at the Lebanon Country Club on May 8, 2012.  Please find the enclosed photo.  The attorneys in order from left to right are Mr. Jason J.
