2009 Buzgon Davis Law Offices Scholarship

The winner of the 2009 Buzgon Davis Law Offices Scholarship is Ms. Claudia Yepez-Laubach.

Ms. Yepez-Laubach is the daughter of M/M George Laubach and is a graduating senior at Palmyra Area Senior High School. She is a member of the National Honor Society, participated in the National Young Leaders Conference, and is Co-Editor-in-Chief and Staff Writer for the Cougar Chronicle, the school newspaper. Other activities include Student Government and Varsity Girls’ Tennis Team. She plans to attend New York University and major in International Relations/English. She later plans to attend Columbia Law School.

The $3,000.00 Buzgon Davis Scholarship is given to a graduating senior from one of the seven district schools. The selection criterion includes (a) class rank (the student must be in the top 20% of the class, (b) essay-writing and (3) personal interview. Each school submits its top essay to the Buzgon Davis scholarship committee who then rates the essays as well as the personal interview with each candidate.

The topic for this year was SHOULD PARENTS AND OTHER ADULTS BE ALLOWED TO OPENLY CARRY FIREARMS TO PUBLIC EVENTS?

Ms. Yepez-Laubach, accompanied by her parents, M/M George Laubach, was presented with the first installment of her scholarship at a luncheon held at the Lebanon Country Club on May 8, 2009.


The winner of the 2007 Buzgon Davis Law Offices Scholarship is Mr. Terry J. Kunder.

Mr. Kunder, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kunder, is a 2007 graduate of Eastern Lebanon County High School. His previous awards include Rotary Student of the Month and Phys Ed Student of the Month.  He is the recipient of the VFW Certificate of Outstanding Achievement, the Scholastic Athlete Award, and the Scholastic Art Award for digital imagery and computer art. Mr. Kunder was a member of the Chorus and the Senior Class Council.  Other activities included ELCO News Network, Daybreak Morning Show, the Envirothon Club, golf, wrestling, tennis, and playing the lead in the school musical, MAME. His plan is to attend Penn State University. The $3,000.00 Buzgon Davis Scholarship is given to a graduating senior from one of the seven district schools. The selection criterion includes:

  1. Class rank (student must be in top 20% of class)
  2. Essay-writing
  3. Personal interview

STATE YOUR PHILOSOPHY WITH REGARD TO THE MANNER IN WHICH YOU WOULD HANDLE THE CURRENT ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION PROBLEM CONFRONTING THE UNITED STATES.

Mr. Kunder, accompanied by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kunder, was presented with the first installment of his scholarship at a luncheon held at the Lebanon Country Club on May 24, 2007.


The firm provides a $3,000 annual scholarship to a Lebanon County High School Senior planning to attend a four-year, accredited college. The winner of the 2006 Buzgon Davis Law Offices Scholarship is Kelsey J. McMillen.

Miss McMillen is the daughter of Karen McMillen Dielmann and is a graduating senior at Cedar Crest High School. She was president of the drama club; founder and vice president of the Young Democrats Club; editor of the arts and entertainment section of the school newspaper, The Talon; and a member of chorus, concert choir and French club. Among her honors are National Honor Society, National Association of High School Scholars and Outstanding Student of America, National Student Leadership Conference and several writing awards. She is employed at Staples at Cedar Crest Square. Miss McMillen plans to attend Bryn Mawr College to major in philosophy.

Miss McMillen was presented with the first installment of her scholarship at a luncheon held at the Lebanon Country Club.
