2011 Buzgon Davis Law Offices Scholarship

Ms. Hunt is the daughter of M/M David Hunt and is a graduating senior at Palmyra Area High School. She has been a member of the National Honor Society for two years, is a member of the National Society of School Scholars, and participated in the former Gifted and Talented Program for five years. Ms. Hunt tutors weekly at the Phoenix Community Center through the Key Club, engages in fund-raising activities for the Four-Diamonds Fund to help enhance the Ronald McDonald House, and serves as the Palmyra Area School District’s Environmental Science Program, Envirothon, Secretary. She has also earned her black belt in Kung Fu. Ms. Hunt plans to attend Shippensburg University, as an Honors Student, and major in Psychology with the intent of eventually becoming a Clinical Psychologist.

The $3,000.00 Buzgon Davis Scholarship is given to a graduating senior from one of the seven district schools. The selection criterion includes (a) class rank (the student must be in the top 20% of the class, (b) essay-writing and (3) personal interview. Each school submits its top essay to the Buzgon Davis scholarship committee who then rates the essays as well as the personal interview with each candidate.

The topic for this year was HOW DO YOU BALANCE THE USE OF MODERN TECHNOLOGY AGAINST THE CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT TO PRIVACY?

Ms. Hunt, accompanied by her mother, Daphne Hunt, was presented with the first installment of her scholarship at a luncheon held at the Lebanon Country Club on May 4, 2011.
