2014 Buzgon Davis Law Offices College Scholarship Award

The winner of the 2014 Buzgon Davis Law Offices Scholarship is Mr. James H. Rudd. Mr. Rudd is the son of M/M Jonathan Rudd and is a graduating senior at Cedar Crest High School. Mr. Rudd is a member of the National Honor Society and the Tri-M Music Honor Society of which he is currently president. He was a National Merit Commendation recipient, Gold Academic Merit Award winner, and Lebanon Rotary Club Student of the Month for February. Mr. Rudd has participated in Chorus, Orchestra, Jazz Band, Students for Christ, and Varsity Cross Country. He plans to attend Messiah College where he will pursue a major in Mathematics.

The $3,000.00 Buzgon Davis Scholarship is given to a graduating senior from one of the seven district schools. The selection criterion includes (a) class rank (the student must be in the top 20% of the class, (b) essay-writing and (3) personal interview. Each school submits its top essay to the Buzgon Davis scholarship committee who then rates the essays as well as the personal interview with each candidate.

The topic for this year was SHOULD CONGRESS, INCLUDING BOTH THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES AND THE SENATE, BE SUBJECT TO TERM LIMITS AND, IF SO, WHY OR WHY NOT?

Mr. Rudd, accompanied by his parents, M/M Jonathan Rudd, was presented with the first installment of his scholarship at a luncheon held at the Lebanon Country Club on May 22, 2014.
