2019 Buzgon Davis Law Offices Scholarship Award

The winner of the 2019 Buzgon Davis Law Offices Scholarship is Ms. Sarah Sheils of Palmyra Area High School. Ms. Sheils is the daughter of Eric and Rowena Sheils. She serves as senior class president, Student Council treasurer, and captain of the tennis team. Ms. Sheils is also a member of the National Honor Society, Key Club, STEM Club, Spanish Club, Envirothon, and Chamber Orchestra. After high school, Ms. Sheils plans to attend Penn State University.

The $3,000.00 Buzgon Davis Scholarship is given to a graduating senior from one of the seven district schools. The selection criterion includes (a) class rank (the student must be in the top 20% of the class, (b) essay-writing and (3) personal interview. Each school submits its top essay to the Buzgon Davis scholarship committee who then rates the essays for each candidate as well as the personal interviews with the top three finalist candidates.

The topic for this year was IF YOU HAD THE AUTHORITY TO CHANGE THE LEBANON COMMUNITY IN A POSITIVE WAY, WHAT SPECIFIC CHANGES WOULD YOU MAKE?

 Ms. Sarah Sheils, accompanied by her father, Mr. Eric Sheils, was presented with the first installment of her scholarship at a luncheon held at Hidden Still Spirits on May 9, 2019.
